PAVED WORKS allows international distribution of the media arts projects directly by and for our members and is an important part of the media arts services that we provide as part of our newly renovated media arts production centre. The site was created and designed by Troy Gronsdahl with input by David LaRiviere, Ian Campbell, Brigid Ward, Aleyna may stene and a PAVED members survey.
Dissemination of media art is at the core of the PAVED Arts mandate. This site increases the capacity of artists to distribute their media work. PAVED WORKS secures permanent international distribution for Saskatoon artist's, our members, outreach youth and artistic partners media arts productions.PAVED youth need access to website. Having become comfortable with PAVED Arts as a centre to produce audio we feel it is time to introduce self-publishing and uses of the web. We want to introduce the concept of freedom of the independent voice verses web sites you tube and my space.
The design of the site emphasizes usability over aesthetics. PAVED WORKS is easy to navigate, easy to contribute to and celebrates the diversity of cultural projects produced by PAVED members. We have integrated streaming video into many parts of the site to engage both members and visitors with the wealth of creativity of our community. This is space for our community to share and self publish their productions such as hip hop music videos, sound art tracks, digital stills, documentary video clips, blogs, critical discussions, performance documentation etc.
