Jordan Schwab will present a mixed media piece entitled Equal, an installation that riffs on the famous piece of land art by Michael Heizer entitled Double Negative. In the summer of 2013 Jordan made the trek to the remote section of the Nevada desert (located in the Mormon Mesa near Overton, Nevada) in order to photograph Double Negative as it exists today. For Toon’s Kitchen Equal will retains a genuine reverence for the Heizer work, while incorporating cartoon elements and toy motifs that imbue Jordan’s installation work with a sense of play.
