The PAVED Arts production centre is excited to launch a new slate of workshops to close-out the 2015 calendar year.  Check out the schedule below for some brand new content and some returning favourites.  As always workshops are free for producing members in good standing.  If you would like to register for a workshop or renew your membership please email Reilly at technical@pavedarts.

Intro to Rasberry Pi
November 7th, 1PM – 5PM

Host: Geronimo Inutiq

PAVED Arts is excited to host visiting artist Geronimo Inutiq for this very special workshop presentation.  The Raspberry Pi is a series of credit card–sized single-board computers developed in the United Kingdom by the Raspberry Pi Foundation with the intention of promoting the teaching of basic computer science in schools and developing countries.  Geronimo will show how he uses these computers in a media arts context and will demonstrate some of the computers capabilities.

3D Printing
November 22nd and November 29th, 1-5PM
PAVED Arts Production Centre
Host: Jean-Sebastien Gauthier

This 2 part workshop will introduce participants to the basics of developing 3D models (using open source and free software) and best practices and considerations when preparing for 3D printing. After going through the basics of model development participants will have the opportunity to make their own 3d scans and small 3D print at this workshop.

Each person will need to bring their own computer or ask to have one provided by PAVED.

Media Management and Organization Strategies for Media Artists

Do naming conventions, file management systems, and digital storage strategies make you shudder?  Then this workshop might be for you.  We all know that sometimes the organization side of media arts is a low priority when doing creative work.  But it’s an absolutely critical skill to being an efficient artist and could be a life saver if you ever have a hard drive fail you.  This workshop will cover the basic best practices to abide by when doing media art work by one of the most prolific artists in Saskatoon, Carrie Gates.
