PAVED Arts is thrilled to present Cypher Connect, in partnership with Chokecherry Studios! Our newest program aims to keep youth connected and creative through hip hop, freestyle and spoken word. Cypher Connect will take place every Monday through Zoom meet-ups. Hosted by ZHE the Free (aka Zoe Slusar), Cypher Connect will also feature different Artist Mentors every week, who’ll work with youth to level up their skills in rap, freestyle, poetry and spoken word performance.
Cypher Connect will focus on the elements of rap including writing bars, developing freestyle skills, use of poetic devices, performance and delivery, cadence and tapping into “the flow”. Every Monday we’ll circle up, Zoom style, to share in learning about the various elements involved in producing your own creative piece.
It’s free, easy to access, and comes with FREE FOOD, where we’ll feature a local restaurant each week, and have a nutritious meal delivered to your door! All you need to do is register online and sign in to the Monday sessions, and PAVED Arts will hook you up with dinner and some inside knowledge. Cypher Connect is a place for you to showcase your art and experience Cypher*, while developing skills to enhance your artistic talent.
*Cypher involves a group coming together to share in freestyle creative expression and aims to bring youth together in artistic community. These meet-ups allow youth to learn from community role models & mentors, showcase their art, share what they’ve been working on, while developing skills to enhance their rap and poetry abilities.
