PAVED Arts Programming Assistant
12 weeks from May 31 until August 27, 2021
$15.00 per hour, 30 hrs per week plus 5 hrs of flex time

Job Description:
The Programming Assistant will work with the Technical Director to coordinate the organization’s annual Summer Youth Camp and assist with PAVED Arts’ additional outreach programs and special events. Additional duties may include, website maintenance, assisting with social media platforms, digital archiving and data entry, administrative support, installation and media promotion of exhibitions and events at PAVED Arts main and media galleries. The Programming Assistant may also assist with documentation of exhibitions as well as packing and shipping of artworks. 

PAVED will be hiring the Summer Student based on our Call to Action that prioritizes BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals in all future employment opportunities.

*The successful applicant must complete and provide us a criminal records check prior to employment. 

Job Qualifications:
• University Student in Visual Arts, Curatorial Studies or Art History an asset
• Experience in program development and/or working with youth an asset
• Moderate computer skills (Word, Excel, Photoshop and Illustrator) and comfortable familiarity with social media (twitter, Facebook and Instagram) and WordPress platform 
• Interest in media arts (photography, audio, video and digital arts) an asset 
• This position is funded through Young Canada Works and has to follow the following criteria:
• Be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada; Note: Non-Canadian students or graduates holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent status are not eligible.
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada
• Be between 15* and 30 years of age at the start of employment (*where permissible under provincial/territorial labour laws)
• Have completed the school year at the start of employment
• Meet the specific eligibility criteria of the program to which you apply 
• Be registered in the Young Canada Works (YCW) online candidate inventory
• Be willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment (minimum 30 hours a week); and not have another full-time job while employed in a YCW job. 

Participants in a Summer Work Experience program MUST:
• Have registered as a full-time* student in the semester preceding the YCW job (*as defined by their educational institution); and intend to return to full-time studies* in the semester immediately following the YCW summer job.
