$18.00 per hour, 30hrs per week

The Production / Gallery Assistant will work with the Artistic Director and Technical Director to provide support for the administration, installation, and promotion of events and youth-programs at PAVED Arts. The successful candidate will provide support to the PAVED’s Production Centre and assist with outreach programs and special events including leading the coordination and facilitation of the summer youth media camp, and other duties as assigned.

Primary responsibilities include:
-Program Coordinator for our Youth summer programming
-Organization/Production Centre support
-Miscellaneous tasks as needed

Job Qualifications:
-University Student in Visual Arts, Curatorial Studies or Art History an asset
-Moderate computer skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite) and comfortable familiarity with social media (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) and WordPress platform.
-Interest in media arts (photography, audio, video and digital arts) an asset

Work Environment:
-This position is based onsite in the PAVED Arts office but due to COVID-19, will provide options to work from home when applicable.
-Some evening and weekend work (in-person and virtual) is required during workshops and other PAVED events.
-Some physical duties are required, including heavy lifting, upon the candidate’s abilities.

This position is funded through Young Canada Works and must follow the following criteria:
-Be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada; Note: Non-Canadian students or graduates holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent status are not eligible.
-Be legally entitled to work in Canada;
-Be between 15* and 30 years of age at the start of employment (*where permissible under provincial/territorial labour laws);
-Have completed the school year at the start of employment;
-Meet the specific eligibility criteria of the program to which you apply;
-Be registered in the YCW online candidate inventory;
-Be willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment (minimum 30 hours a week); and not have another full-time job while employed in a YCW job.

Participants in a Summer Work Experience program must:
Have registered as a full-time* student in the semester preceding the YCW job (*as defined by their educational institution); and intend to return to full-time studies* in the semester immediately following the YCW summer job.
