Wednesday, March 27, 2024, 6–9 pm

In this workshop, we will be creating basic image-based augmented reality using Unity and Vuforia.  If time permits, we will also explore lighting, animation within Unity, and transferring models from Blender to Unity.  We will also cover the basics of Xcode for Mac.

Tools and Materials Needed
A computer is required for this workshop. If you want to deploy to an apple device a mac computer is necessary, but if you want to deploy to android a PC is fine. Andrei will go over installing Unity, but installing Unity prior to the workshop will save time. Andrei will make a video on installing leading up to the workshop for those unfamiliar. You will also need either the iOS or Android installs for Unity in order to create your app.

Basic skills
Basic understanding of unity and blender is an asset.

This workshop is free for PAVED Arts Members, $20 for non-members. Please email program@pavedarts.ca to register for this workshop.

Artist Bio

Andrei Feheregyhazi is an artist and animator whose work is often filled with absurd humor that doesn’t take itself too seriously.  He addresses tragedy, loss, and general feelings of dread and isolation in a lighthearted and whimsical way.

Since early 2018, Andrei has been experimenting and pushing boundaries by combining augmented reality with various art forms.  What he loves most about it is the ability to explore space and narratives in new and exciting ways whether it is a picture book that comes to life and animates itself in someone’s hands or allowing the narrative to take place in the world around them, forcing/allowing for exploration of that space.
