Explore creative shooting techniques to enhance your photographic portraits. Learn how to become comfortable with your subject and camera, create a more honest and personal portrait and experiment with DIY filters and lighting techniques.
Artist Bio:
Carey Shaw is a photographer based out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Treaty 6. With a BFA from the Alberta College of Art & Design in 2001, her photography work focuses on portraits, relationships, memories and safety. Creating and telling stories through both editorial photography and constructed dioramas/superimposed images. Carey has worked as an Artist in Residence with the Saskatchewan Arts Board and community arts educator and artistic coordinator with the MacKenzie Art Gallery and Common Weal Community Arts. Carey has taught photography and traditional darkroom practices with PAVED Arts, City of Regina, University of Saskatoon and Remai Modern.

Basic skills:
Participants must have working knowledge of their DSLR.
