The One Take Super 8 Event is back!
Shot on super 8, the films in these events have never been seen before, not even by the filmmakers! Edited in-camera, the works are shown as they were shot. No Cuts! No Splices!
Making for a true premiere, the One Take Super 8 Event supports independent filmmaking and provides an exciting opportunity for audiences to watch locally made films on the big screen. Past films have gone on to screen internationally and win awards across the globe.
Started in Regina in 2000, the One Take Super 8 Event has spread across North America generating over 1000 new films.

Curious about The One Take Super 8? Stop by PAVED Arts for our OTS8 open house!
The knowledgeable staff at PAVED will be on hand to demo a variety of Super 8 cameras, answer questions about the OTS8 event, and preview Super 8 films from years past. They will provide essential tips on how to best organize your single cartridge shoot to make your final product look as good as possible.
No previous filmmaking experience is required for the OTS8! You may join the event as a veteran or a first time filmmaker.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own cameras if they have them. Our facilitators will do their best to ensure they’re in proper working order and can provide orientations on your own and available PAVED gear, so that you can have fun making your short film!
Registration
The registration form will be released on Friday, June 5 at 12:30 pm via the PAVED Arts e-newsletter, social media channels (@pavedarts), and this webpage.
PAVED Arts has film cartridges available for purchase at $66 for b&w, or $78 for colour. The $66/$78 entry fee includes a cartridge of b&w or colour super 8 film, film processing services, a digital copy of your film, and a guaranteed screening. You can provide your own cartridge of reversal film for this project (NO NEGATIVES) for a $30 processing fee.
