Call for Board Members: Join the PAVED Arts Board of Directors (2026–2028)

Call for Board Members

PAVED Arts is seeking nominations for its Board of Directors for two-year terms beginning following the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on October 1, 2026.

PAVED Arts is a not-for-profit, artist-run centre dedicated to the production, presentation, research, and dissemination of contemporary media arts, supporting artists working in photography, audio, video, electronic, and digital media.

Join the Board

We are seeking engaged community members who are passionate about the arts and interested in helping guide the future of PAVED Arts. This year, we are particularly interested in candidates with experience in:

  • Accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or treasury functions
  • Law, governance, or policy
  • Fundraising, sponsorship, or donor development

We also welcome candidates with experience in non-profit governance, strategic planning, communications, community engagement, project management, and the arts.

No prior board experience is required.

Board Responsibilities

Board members provide strategic oversight and governance for the organization by:

  • Supporting the mission and long-term sustainability of PAVED Arts
  • Overseeing organizational finances, policies, and performance
  • Participating in board meetings and committees
  • Serving as ambassadors for the organization

Board members should expect to contribute approximately 8-10 hours per month and commit to a two-year term.

A Call for Diverse Voices and Perspectives

PAVED Arts believes that strong organizations are built through diverse perspectives, lived experiences, and ways of knowing. We are committed to building a Board that reflects the communities we serve and encourages applications from individuals whose voices have historically been underrepresented in governance and leadership roles.

We warmly welcome nominations from Indigenous, Black, racialized, newcomer, and 2SLGBTQIA+ community members; persons with disabilities; artists and cultural workers; and individuals from a wide range of professional and life experiences.

If you are passionate about the arts, community, and the role media arts play in society, we encourage you to apply, even if you do not meet every qualification described in this call. Your unique experiences, perspectives, and skills may be exactly what our Board needs.

How to Apply

To be considered for election at the AGM, please submit:

  • A resume or CV
  • A letter of interest describing:
    • Why you would like to join the Board
    • The skills and experience you would bring

Nominations must be received by Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
