DIY & Independent Filmmaking Part 1: Pre Production & Development

Learn everything that goes into developing and scheduling a micro-budget feature film and web-series. From making call-sheets to casting actors, you will learn how to prep production of a film with little to no money. No previous experience required, other than a love of movies.

DIY & Independent Filmmaking Workshop Part 2: Production & Post-Production 
Tuesday, April 24, 7-10pm

Part 2: Using your knowledge learned about pre-production and development, we will dive into production and post-production of the projects! From renting gear to stealing locations, you will learn how to make a film and not pay for anything.

Gavin Baird is an independent filmmaker based out of Saskatoon,SK. He holds an Honours Diploma
from The Recording Arts Institute of Saskatoon. He recently directed the feature film, The Big Gust!, and
the four episode sitcom, Four in a Blanket. He is currently working on his next feature film.

Kyle Zurevinski is a photographer, new media artist, and film producer from Saskatoon, SK currently completing his Bachelor of Fine Arts and BA in Art History from the University of Saskatchewan. His work has been shown at the Frances Morrison Library Gallery for his series “vVIBEZz”, OSAC and AKA’s provincial traveling showcase: “Futures”, the Darrell Bell Gallery and the Gordon Snelgrove Gallery. In 2017 he was a national finalist for the The Aimia | AGO Photography Prize Scholarship and this year was nominated for the inaugural Scotiabank New Generation Photography Award. As producer he has worked on his first feature film “The Big Gust!”, the upcoming web series “Four in a Blanket” made with the support from Creative Saskatchewan, and is currently working on pre-production for his next feature film.
