Animating the Inanimate Workshop w/ Pippa Lattey
Tuesday, March 10, at 7pm
AKA/PAVED Arts Event Space
Let inanimate objects take the creative lead! Listen to your non-human and non-organic companions, and help them to express their innermost desires. Does that muffin want to roll over and play dead? Does that pencil want to tap tap tap across the table?
In this low-tech workshop with Vancouver-based artist Pippa Lattey, participants will make their own kinetic sculptures. Pippa will also introduce simple mechanical and electronic ways to move things. Bring along your own inanimate object or use the materials provided.
This activity takes a literal interpretation of post-humanism, with the human artist as creative facilitator for non-human materials.
